US and Russian Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on August 15 started negotiations in Anchorage, Alaska. These talks are aimed, according to the American leader, at ending Russia's military operations in Ukraine.

This is the first visit to Alaska by a Russian leader in history and Putin's first trip to the United States since 2015.

The meeting lasted about three hours, although it was initially reported that it would last much longer. There was no long personal conversation one-on-one, the parties talked in a three-on-three format

"The meeting was historic, and very disgusting for our taste, but it was not Munich or Yalta," says LIGA.net volodymyr Dubovyk, visiting professor at Tufts University (USA).
