Adjunct Professor at the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Bologna. Partner and founder of the London-based consulting firm Essential Economics, which advises governments and international organizations.
For ten years (2004–2019), she headed the International Economic Research Department at Chatham House.
Previously, she held the position of Professor of International Economics at Queen Mary University of London and was Chair of the Advisory Board of the Global Policy Institute.
In 2016, she was awarded the Order of the Star of Italy (Cavaliere dell'Ordine della Stella d'Italia)
