Trump and Ukraine: 50-day ultimatum to Putin and the future of war

The main foreign policy event for Ukraine in the first half of July, and in recent months in general, was the US president's political reversal in his relations with Putin and Ukraine. For the first time in his second term, Donald Trump approved additional arms supplies to Ukraine (though for money, not for free, as before) and began to exert at least some pressure on Russia.
The reasons for Trump's reversal are more or less clear. In fact, he explained them himself. During Trump's sixth phone call with Putin, his patience finally broke down. A pleasant conversation with the Russian president was no longer enough for Trump. He did not expect Putin to take concrete steps to end the war against Ukraine. On the contrary, the Kremlin has begun to escalate this war. And this caused not just Trump's dissatisfaction, but clearly irritated him .
However, there are fundamental questions about Trump's statements and actions, especially the "50-day ultimatum" to Putin.
Is this a radical reversal of Trump's attitude to the Russian-Ukrainian war or just another tactical maneuver?
